Ralph Pappy Willis
A Legendary Local Business
In 1921, Ralph Pappy Willis stopped in North Canton for work on his way to Detroit. Pappy began selling Chevys at the corner of Schneider and Main. He eventually took over the Chrysler-Plymouth agency. In 1935 it became a Pontiac dealership that remained in business until 2007 at 202 West Maple Street. Willis Pontiac remained a critical business in North Canton throughout the years and a scholarship was given to generations of Hoover students in Pappy's memory. The Willis family maintained ownership throughout those years following in Pappy's shoes.
