Doc Steele

Administering kindness and pills

In the early 1880s, Doctor W.C. Steele started practicing medicine. For over 30 years, made house calls, took patients in his office, and was available to run to the Hoover factory as needed. Because his office was downtown and right next to the post office, Mrs. Steele decided to put up a community Christmas tree – the first in town (Basner 199).
