Camp Hoover
A Place to Work and Play
As the Hoover Company grew, Boss Hoover hosted annual sales conventions to teach the latest sales techniques. These International Conventions were held at the back of the Hoover Farm property in an area known as Hoover Camp – it is the location of today’s Hoover Park. The convention included between 200 and 300 visitors every year. In addition to training, the town would come out in its Sunday best; they held parades with ornate floats and offered lavish entertainment from orchestras and bands
(Hall and Kieffer 89-94).
